This article provides instructions on changing your password on a JMU-Owned Windows machine while located off-campus.

Troubleshooting/Resolution
To change your password on a windows computer with Direct Access connection to your home network:
- Ensure that you have a Direct Access connection by:
- Clicking on your wired or wifi icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the task bar) or Searching Direct Access in Settings
- Ensuring that JMU Workplace Connection states Connected
- Open a web browser to mylogin.jmu.edu
- Click on the MyLogin in the top right Corner, then My Settings
- Select Manage Security Methods under Security Methods
- Select Update next to Password
- Follow the steps to change your password.
- After the password has changed, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to lock your computer.
- Wait a few minutes, then click to unlock your computer and login with your new password. Your local windows cached password should now be updated.
- If not, give the system a minute or two to ensure it has had a chance to sync.
