An email system for students, employees and affiliates that includes email, calendar, and contact management services based on Microsoft 365 and can be accessed from a computer, web browser, or mobile client. JMU Faculty, Staff, and Students receive email, M365, and Zoom services upon account creation.
Affiliates receive these services if selected on the Affiliate Service Request Hire Form. Note: Affiliates do not receive an equivalent M365 license to employees. Additional details can be found here
Student employees who need an employee email to fulfill job duties can have their supervisors request that they be given an employee email account when submitting the ePAR. If the decision is made after the ePAR has been submitted, the supervisor can put in a request using the information found here.
Microsoft 365 (M365) is a subscription-based service that includes your JMU email, OneDrive and SharePoint cloud storage, and the Teams collaboration platform. It also includes access to cloud-based applications such as Microsoft Planner, Bookings, Forms, Lists, Loop, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), and the traditional suite of Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote). Microsoft Copilot Chat is included in M365 as the base version of the generative AI tool, and advanced options for M365 Copilot and Copilot Studio licensing is available upon request and approval.
Zoom a cloud-based web conferencing tool for video and audio conferencing, collaboration, chat, and webinars across mobile devices, desktops, and room systems. Zoom allows you to meet and collaborate with people both inside and outside of JMU.
LISTSERV software enables e-mail users to create and maintain large e-mail lists.
