How to download and install Microsoft Teams for Windows and Mac
Note: Faculty and staff may also download the Teams client from Software Center on managed, JMU-owned Windows computers, or JMU Self Service on managed, JMU-owned Macs.
Windows 10+
- Go to this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app
- Click Download for Desktop
- Click Download Teams
- Make sure the installer is saving to Downloads
- Open up the Downloads folder and double-click the installer
- Follow the steps on the screen to install the app
MacOS
- Open a web browser to: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app
- Click Download for Desktop
- Click Download Teams
- Make sure the installer is saving to Downloads
- Open up the Downloads folder and double-click the installer
- Follow the steps on the screen to install the app
- You may need to click and drag the MS Teams logo into the Applications folder. If so a menu will appear that makes this really easy, as it will only have the two icons in it. Once done allow MacOS to move the installer to the trash
