Temporary Admin Capability

Overview

This article is for if you would like to install software on your system that requires admin capabilities.

Environment

Applies to JMU-managed devices.

Troubleshooting/Resolution

If you are requiring assistance with installing or updating software, contact the IT Help Desk with your eID and the ESN of the machine requiring the Admin account, and IT Help Desk can assist with one of these options:

  1. An Admin account to be placed on the machine for your required use
  2. A temporary Admin account or account elevation to allow you to complete your required work.
  3. An IT Help Desk representative can assist remotely with updating and completing any installation or update required.
