JMU eID Password Assistance

Overview

Your JMU eID password is first set at account activation and is used to login across JMU systems including MyLogin, Microsoft 365, the campus WiFi network and more. It will need to be changed every 12 months and follow the requirements below:

  • It is at least 16 characters long.
  • It contains at least 1 lowercase letter.
  • It contains at least 1 uppercase letter.
  • It contains at least 1 numeric character.
  • It contains at least 1 special character.
  • It is not similar to any of your previous passwords (Okta maintains a history).
  • It does not contain your first name (see note below).
  • It does not contain your last name (see note below).
  • It does not contain your eID.

How can I get this Service?

You must follow the steps from the initial Okta activation email to set your password. If you need to update your password, you can click the "Forgot Password" link in the Okta sign-in page.
