Server Build Request

Overview

JMU IT builds servers to support the technology needs of the university. Currently solutions are provided, on both Windows and RHEL operating systems, using both physical and virtual infrastructure. At this time, cloud infrastructure is not available, but work is ongoing to support these requests in the future.

Servers built and managed by IT include 24/7 monitoring, anti-virus and vulnerability management, and physical security. Servers are built to comply with industry standards, and IT will partner with application owners to ensure compliance.

Who can use this Service?

JMU Faculty & Staff can request these services, however, any new implementation requests for customers outside of IT should be initiated via the TSR process. If approved, IT will reach out to discuss the specific logistics of the project, and determine the best solution.
