How to Clear my Browser's Cache and History

There may be times where you will need to clear a web browser's cache and browsing history, as old data can cause errors when attempting to log into MyMadison and other sites. If you had an error occur, please follow the steps below and try again. Ensure that you are typing in your eID (not nine-digit ID number) and password correctly.

Google Chrome 

  1. Open the Chrome browser
  2. Select the Chrome menu (vertical dots)
  3. Select Delete Browsing Data
  4. Select the Advanced Tab
  5. Set the Time range to All time
  6. Select the following options if they are not already checked:
    1. Browsing history
    2. Download history
    3. Cookies and other site data
    4. Cached images and files
    5. Autofill Form Data
    6. Site Settings
  7. Click Clear data
  8. Close and re-open Google Chrome

Microsoft Edge 

  1. Open the Edge browser
  2. Select Edge menu (horizontal dots), then Settings
  3. Click Privacy, Search and Services
  4. Under Clear browsing data, beside Clear Browsing data now Choose what to clear
  5. Set the Time range to All Time
  6. Select the following options if they are not already checked:
    1. Browsing history
    2. Download history
    3. Cookies and other site data
    4. Cached images and files
    5. Autofill Form Data
    6. Site Permissions
    7. All data from the previous version of Microsoft Edge (if available)
    8. Media Foundation data
  7. Click Clear Now
  8. Close and re-open Microsoft Edge

Mozilla Firefox 

  1. Open the Firefox browser
  2. Select Firefox menu (horizontal lines)
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Privacy & Security on the left panel
  5. Under Cookies and Site data, click Clear Data...
  6. Ensure Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content are selected
  7. Click Clear
  8. Scroll down to History
  9. Click Clear History... button
  10. Set the Time range to Everything
  11. Select the following options if they are not already checked:
    1. Browsing & download history
    2. Cookies
    3. Cache
    4. Active Logins
    5. Form & search history
    6. Site Settings
    7. Offline website data
  12. Click Clear Now
  13. Close and re-open Mozilla Firefox

Apple Safari for MacOS 

  1. Open Apple Safari
  2. Click Safari on the Menubar, then select Clear History ...
  3. Select All History, then click Clear History
  4. Select the Safari Menu
  5. Click Settings..., click the Privacy tab
  6. Click Manage Website Data...
  7. Click Remove All and then Done once completed
  8. Click the Advanced tab
  9. Click the box next to Show features for web developers and close the window
  10. Click Develop in the Menubar, then click Empty Caches
  11. Close and Re-open Apple Safari
