How to Sign into Zoom

Overview

This article will explain the sign in process for Zoom across all versions.

Environment

Zoom Browser Version, Zoom Client Version, MacOS Computers, Windows Computers

Troubleshooting/Resolution

 Logging in to Zoom Through a Browser (via SSO)

  1. Go to the Zoom webpage
  2. Click the SSO option beneath the "Or sign in with" header
  3. Choosing this option will take you to a new page, where you will be asked to provide a Company Domain 
  4. Enter "jmu-edu" as the Company Domain then click Continue
  5. This option will take you to the JMU sign in, where you will use your eID and Password to log in, prompting for multi-factor authentication  

Logging in to Zoom Through a Browser (Direct Link)

  1. Go to the JMU Zoom login page
    1. This link is sharable as "jmu-edu.zoom.us"
  2. Click Sign In
  3. This will take you to the JMU sign in, where you will use your eID and Password to log in, prompting for multi-factor authentication

Logging in to Zoom Through the Windows Client (via SSO)

  1. Open Zoom
  2. Click Sign In
  3. Click Sign In with SSO 
  4. Enter "jmu-edu" as the Company Domain then click Continue
  5. Verify with multi-factor authentication with your JMU eID and password
  6. Click Open Zoom Meetings (if you don't see this, follow the screen prompts by clicking Launch Zoom then Open Zoom Meetings)

Logging in to Zoom Through the Mac Client (via SSO)

  1. Open Zoom
  2. Click Sign In
  3. Click Sign In with SSO 
  4. Enter "jmu-edu" as the Company Domain then click Continue
  5. Authenticate to multi-factor authentication with your JMU eID and password
  6. Click Open Zoom Meetings (if you don't see this, follow the screen prompts by clicking Launch Zoom then Open Zoom Meetings)
