Obtain Zoom Plug-In For Microsoft Office

Overview

This article will describe the steps to download and install the Zoom plug-in for Microsoft O365 Apps.

Troubleshooting/Resolution

Note: If you are using a JMU-Owned computer, an update has been implemented to provide the Zoom plugin without the need to search or download it directly from Zoom.

 Note: Several versions of Outlook do not support the options to Schedule a Meeting or Start Instant Meeting. If you do not see these in the main ribbon bar, please check to see if they appear after creating a new appointment or calendar event.

 If you don't see the Zoom plug-in when you go to create a new calendar event/appointment:

  1. Go to the Zoom Download Center.
  2. Click the Download button beneath the Zoom Plugin for Microsoft Outlook.
    • Note if you would like to to Add Zoom as an Add-in for Outlook on the web (webmail or the browser version of Outlook email), click Add Zoom link below the Download button.
  3. Once the download is complete, click to run the ZoomOutlookPlugin.msi file to run and follow the install wizard to complete the installation.
  4. Restart Outlook before using the Plugin.
