Emeriti/Affiliates Maintaining Active Account Status for JMU Services

Overview

Find instructions for Emeriti regarding how to maintain access to your JMU services (email access, UREC access, Library access, etc.).

Troubleshooting/Resolution

In order to maintain an Active JMU account so that you could continue utilizing your JMU services (email access, UREC access, Library access, etc.):

  1. You will need to go through the process of signing into your account every 180 days.
    1. You can sign into your JMU email through your web browser's Incognito/inPrivate window at https://outlook.office.com.
  2.  Maintain an up-to-date password, which expires every year. You will receive multiple email reminders prior to your password's expiration date.
    1. Should your password expire and your JMU account becomes inactive after twelve (12) months, your email account will be disabled and removed.
      1. This does not revoke or remove your Emeriti status, but rather removes your services.

 

This is necessary to ensure that your email is secure and to ensure security of the email system for all.
