Overview
The Libraries’ expert technologists and instructional designers can help JMU instructors and faculty enhance student learning by effectively using educational technologies (ed tech), including academic software, classroom technology, multimedia equipment, online teaching, and much more.
We enhance the teaching and learning experience for faculty and students in in-person and hybrid environments via management of appropriate educational technologies. We design, install, support, and maintain reliable technology-rich teaching environments on campus. We coordinate with JMU Facilities Management and others to plan for audio/visual technologies for new or renovated JMU academic buildings.
General use computing labs are available to the general JMU population at various locations on campus and may be reserved by faculty and staff. A JMU JACard is required for entry into the general use labs.
JMU Libraries’ Educational Technology Services provide educational technology and instructional design services.
Digital media hosting service for JMU faculty and staff to upload and share instructional video and audio.
Video, Audio Learning Tool (VALT), was designed as an observation and evaluation tool for clinical training in higher education.
