Overview
JMU offers File Storage Services for constituents based on role. This particular Service includes on-premise fileshares that are provided to the university. If you’re looking for information on OneDrive or Sharepoint services, please click here
- N drive: Network File Storage is space allocated on JMU servers for departmental data files, such as documents, spreadsheets and more. Network file storage provides the ability to share data with other JMU users and the ability to access your own data from multiple locations (on and off campus). The N drive is being phased out, but is currently still available for departmental usage.
- O drive: A space provided in conjunction with the Onbase service [link to Onbase offering] to allow departments to stage their files and edit them prior to ingestion into Onbase. Access to the Onbase sweep server is provided by request, and requires a static IP address and ACLs to be opened for the workstation to access the server.
- H drive: A space allocated specifically for members of the IIHHS department. These users have HIPAA protected data that resides on the IIHHS server to support their work with clients. Access to the H drive is provided by request, and requires a static IP address and ACLs to be opened for the workstation to access the server.
- S drive: A space allocated for server administrators to use for staging files between servers. Access to the S drive is provided by request after evaluation of applicable business need. The S drive is for temporary staging only, and as such, data is removed at regular intervals.
