Overview

Many browser issues can be solved by following the steps below. If issues persist after trying these solutions please call the IT Help Desk.

Troubleshooting/Resolution

To resolve common browser issues:

  1. Clear Browser Cache, then try accessing the information again.
  2. Turn Off Pop-Up Blocking
    Firefox (PC and Mac)
    Safari (Mac and Mobile)
    Google Chrome
    Microsoft Edge

  3. Check Time/Date settings (When you are at JMU, the time zone should be set to (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time).
    • Windows 11
      1. Click Start (Windows logo button).
      2. Click Settings (gear-shaped icon).
      3. Click Time & Language.
      4. Click Date & Time and select the time zone that corresponds to your current geographical location.
    • Mac (macOS 14 and newer)
      1. Click the Apple icon at the top-left of your device’s screen, and select System Settings.
      2. Click General.
      3. Choose Date & Time.
      4. Turn on the switch next to Set date and time automatically.
      5. Click the Time Zone button.
      6. Turn on the switch next to Set time zone automatically using current location.
