Troubleshooting/Resolution

The best way to locate Zoom recordings:

  1. Open a web browser to Zoom and click Sign In
  2. Sign in with your JMU eID password, authenticate through multi-factor authentication
  3. Click on Recordings in the left side menu. This will list the Cloud and Local Recordings.
  4. Click the Local Recordings tab then locate your meeting, if it was indeed recorded by Zoom.
    • Note: The tab may be called Computer Recordings, depending on your version
  5. If it was recorded, you should see an Open button by the meeting; click Open to load the recording.

Be aware that Zoom cloud storage is limited to 60 days

To keep recording for a longer period, you will need to use an alternative storage solution. The best option for important recordings will always be to create multiple copies and save them in multiple locations local and online, or to multiple devices. Additionally, saving your recordings with cloud storage solutions will allow you to share your recordings with others.
