How to Access Handshake

Overview

This article will go over what Handshake is for and how to access the service.

Every JMU student has a Handshake account, starting from the very first semester at JMU. For everyone else (Fac/Staff, UCC employees, etc.) Make sure to activate your Handshake account at your earliest convenience!

Handshake gives all JMU students access to:

  • Internships and job opportunities that employers specifically want to hire JMU students for
  • Career fairs, University Career Center workshops, and other events
  • Employer events, information sessions, and on-campus interviews
  • Appointments with JMU Career Advisors in University Career Center.

Troubleshooting/Resolution

ow to Access Handshake:

  1. Open a web browser to https://www.jmu.edu/career/handshake/index.shtml
  2. Click on the appropriate log in box (Student, Alumni, Faculty/Staff, or Employer) to receive additional log in information

Note: If logging in as a Student, you must enter your full Dukes email address (@dukes.jmu.edu)
