How to Modify or Edit a LISTSERV

This article will go through the process of modifying the owners, editors, and moderators for a Listserv.

Troubleshooting/Resolution

To Modify Owners/Editors/Moderators for a LISTSERV:

  1. Open a web browser to LISTSERV.jmu.edu
  2. Click Log In in the upper right, and sign in to your LISTSERV account
    • LISTSERV does not sync with your eID or eID password
  3. In the top left corner of the screen, under List Management, select List Dashboard
  4. In the search bar that appears, type the name of the list that you would like to edit
  5. Click Search
  6. Click the List Name in the table that appears (for example, SOFTWARE-UPDATES-L)
  7. Once you've selected the list, on the left-hand menu again click List Configuration
  8. Click Edit Manually
  9. Make changes to the "Owner=", "Editor=", and "Moderator=" lines as needed
    • If the line you need is missing from the header, you may add it anywhere on the document
    • Please be sure to use full email addresses separated by a comma
