How to Request a Static IP Address

Overview

This article is to provide instructions on how to request a Static IP in JMU's network.

Environment

Troubleshooting/Resolution
  1. In a web browser,  go to https://start.jmu.edu.
    1. Note: if you are submitting this from off-campus, you will need to first log in with the VPN (Global Protect)
  2. Log in using your JMU eID and password to get to the Registration Page. 
  3. Click the Request reserved IP link.
  4. Enter the Physical Address (or Mac Address) of your device.
  5. Fill out the required fields of the form and administrator contacts.
Additional Information or Notes

A confirmation email will then be sent to you with in 1-2 Business days, providing you with the IP address and any additional details you may need.
