This article will show you how to authenticate to Zoom using SSO when presented with the sign in prompt as JMU faculty, staff, or students. It also provides information for inviting external participants using passcode authentication to join meetings.

Overview
All Zoom meetings in the web browser or desktop app must be joined using JMU SSO (Okta Verify) for internal participants, and passcode authentication for external participants.
Zoom will require re-authentication upon session timeouts.

Logging in to Zoom Through a Browser (via SSO)
- Go to the Zoom webpage
- Click the SSO option beneath the "Or sign in with" header
- Choosing this option will take you to a new page, where you will be asked to provide a Company Domain
- Enter "jmu-edu" as the Company Domain then click Continue
- This option will take you to the JMU sign in, where you will use your eID and Password to log in, prompting for multi-factor authentication
Logging in to Zoom Through a Browser (Direct Link)
- Go to the JMU Zoom login page
- This link is sharable as "jmu-edu.zoom.us"
- Click Sign In
- This will take you to the JMU sign in, where you will use your eID and Password to log in, prompting for multi-factor authentication
Logging in to Zoom Through the Desktop Client (via SSO)
- Open Zoom
- Click Sign In
- Click Sign In with SSO
- Enter "jmu-edu" as the Company Domain then click Continue
- Verify with multi-factor authentication with your JMU eID and password
- Click Open Zoom Meetings (if you don't see this, follow the screen prompts by clicking Launch Zoom then Open Zoom Meetings)
External Participants and Passcode Authentication
- External guests can participate in scheduled Zoom meetings by joining through the meeting invite. This invite link will include the embedded passcode for joining the meeting.
- External guests can participate in Zoom meetings in progress by copying and pasting the meeting link and providing them with that link and passcode.
- Both of these can be found under the info bubble in the top-right corner of the in progress meeting.
- External guests can participate in your Zoom Personal Meeting Room by providing them with the Personal Meeting ID with embedded passcode.
- This can be found under your Zoom Profile and Meeting section.
- Click the View icon to display the full link with passcode.
