Overview
Instructions on how to download Office 365.

Troubleshooting/Resolution
- Open a web browser to outlook.office.com (Employees) or dukes.jmu.edu (students)
- Click "Sign in" in the center left or upper right and sign in with your JMU email address (eID@dukes.jmu.edu or eID@jmu.edu)
- Once you've input your JMU email, sign in using your eID and eID password, then authenticate with Okta Verify
- In the upper left hand corner select the 9 dots and click more apps
- On the Apps page, click Install apps in the upper right, then click Microsoft 365 Apps
- Click Install Office to download the Office installer
- You may be prompted to select a folder to save the downloaded file in
- Once the download has completed, you can either click on the file from your browser, or proceed to the Downloads folder on your device
- Click on the file to begin the install process and follow the instructions to install Office on your computer
Additional Information or Notes
JMU students can install Microsoft Office 365 on up to 5 computers (Windows and/or Mac) at no cost. Your subscription to Microsoft Office will remain as long as you are enrolled as a JMU student.
Note: Microsoft Access is not available for Mac computers. Microsoft Access can be found in JMU's Computer Labs that have a PC Platform (Windows).
