Repair Office Apps with Microsoft Uninstaller Tool

UNINSTALLING OFFICE USING THE MICROSOFT UNINSTALLER TOOL

  1. In a web browser (chrome/edge/safari/Firefox/etc.) go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/uninstall-office-from-a-pc-9dd49b83-264a-477a-8fcc-2fdf5dbf61d8
  2. Scroll down to Option 2 - Completely uninstall Office with the uninstall support tool.
  3. Click Download.
  4. Open File Explorer (usually resides in the taskbar at the bottom of your screen).
  5. Select your Downloads folder.
  6. Find and right click SetupProd_OffScrub.
  7. Select Run as Administrator.
  8. Enter your Administrator credentials.
    1. username = .your-eIDx (must include . and the x at the end).
    2. password = locally set, not synced with your MyMadison password.
  9. In the window that appears, select the version of Office that you want to uninstall, and then select Next.
  10. Follow through the remaining screens and when prompted, restart your computer.
  11. After you restart your computer, the uninstall tool automatically re-opens to complete the final step of the uninstall process. Follow the remaining prompts.
  12. Restart the machine again.

RE-INSTALLING FOR JMU-OWNED MACHINES:

  1. Once signed in, click the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen.
  2. Start typing "Software Center", and open the Software Center application.
  3. Search for and select Office 2019.
  4. Click Install (If it still says uninstall, let us know and a full-time staff member will follow up).
  5. Follow any on-screen prompts to install the Office Suite. This can take up to 30 minutes.
