To Completely Remove an Install of SolidWorks
- Save any work and close any open applications - a system reboot may be necessary.
- Visit the Cise Support Portal: https://support.cise.jmu.edu/iso/SolidWorks/ (your eID username and password are required).
- Download uninstall.cmd from the list of SolidWorks downloads:
- Open (or double-click) the script. You will likely be notified that Windows protected your computer from an unrecognied application:
- Click the "More info" link, then click the "Run anyway" button to proceed:
- You will be prompted for adminstrative privilege. Please click yes and approve the program.
- The script will run for several minutes as it attempts to remove any prior installs of SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical SQL databases, and associated prerequisite utilities:
- The computer may reboot. If so, the script will resume after you log in.
