How to Transfer QuestionPro Survey Ownership

If QuestionPro Survey ownership needs to be transferred to another user:

The new owner:

1. Log in to QuestionPro with their JMU eID, password and authenticates with multi-factor authentication.
2. Creates a new folder (named something related to the type of surveys to be transferred) and shares that folder with the eID of the original owner
   • Under Surveys, My Surveys is your default folder. This folder cannot be renamed or deleted.
   • To add a folder, click on the Add Folder button.
   • Enter a name for your folder and create a new folder.
   • To share the folder, click Share Folder in the right corner.
   • Add the user(s) to the Share folder with users box.
   • The default share status is Edit. You can also restrict status to only copy or only report.
   • Save Changes.

3. Contacts the original owner to find the new shared folder in their account and to move their surveys to this new folder (if original survey owner has left the university, see Request Assistance to Transfer Surveys below).  To move the surveys, the original owner:
   • Selects one or more surveys that you want to move
   • Clicks on the Move option.
   • Selects the New Shared folder where you wish to move the surveys.

4. The surveys will now be owned by the new shared folder owner.
5. This new folder can be shared with other users to access the surveys.

Note: Sometimes it takes a bit (or a browser refresh) for folders to show up.

Request Assistance to Transfer Surveys (original survey owner has left the university or is not available)

1. Log in to the IT Service Portal with your JMU eID, password and authenticate with multi-factor authentication
2. Select Request Help
3. Scroll down and click on Surveys (QuestionPro) then click Ask a Question
4. Fill in the Summary with Transfer Survey Ownership
5. Update the Phone # or email address if different from above to provide the best way to reach you if additional information is needed
6. Fill in a Detailed Description listing the new owners name and JMU eID, the former owner's name and JMU eID, survey names to be transfered if known, and the new shared folder name to hold these surveys.
7. A JMU QuestionPro Administrator will be back in touch with you when the surveys have been moved or to request additional information.
