Mac Update Says that it Failed

In the event that your MacOS update states that it has "Failed," it's possible this is due to how it was initially updated to MacOS Ventura. Across the campus, there are a combination of Apple devices using different hardware that require certain update processes, where some devices we updated through System Settings, while others were updated through JMU Self Service. 
 
If you receive a notification that your update has failed, please attempt the following: 

  1. Open System Settings and if visible, select Software Update Available
  2. Select the specific Update option, which would be signaled by either Install or Restart

This should take you through the update process as you would typically see. Be aware that other updates to JMU-Owned software will be completed through JMU Self Service.
