Dell Docking Station Has Stopped Working

Learn how to troubleshoot issues with your Dell docking station.

Dell Docking Station

1. Visit Dell's site (https://dell.com/support/home/en-us?app=drivers) and enter the Service Tag, Express Service Code, or Model Number of the Dock.
2. Download and install:
   1. Firmware Update for the dock.
   2. Any other drivers for the dock.
      1. Note the warranty status of the dock to determine if it is under warranty.
3. Visit Dell's site (https://dell.com/support/home.en-us?app=drivers) and enter the Service Tag for the computer.
4. Download and install:
   1. BIOS Update
   2. Any other related drivers, especially NIC/Ethernet Drivers
5. Test the dock with another computer and swap any cabling as possible to help further determine if issue with computer versus dock itself
