Overview
This article will go over how to save Teams files from a Teams channel.
Environment
Onedrive Web Version, Microsoft Teams
Troubleshooting/Resolution
In Teams:
- Navigate to the Teams channel you would like to download the files from
- Select Files from the top ribbon next to Posts
- Locate the file/folder you'd like to download
- Hover over the name of the file
- Click the Three Horizontal Dots next to the name of the file
- Click Download
- The files should be sent to your "downloads" folder
In Onedrive:
- In a browser, sign into Microsoft OneDrive by going to this link.
- On the left-hand side of your OneDrive page, select the Team you wish to backup, or select My Files for personal files that are not specifically tied to a particular Team or Sub-channel
- Under In site Library, select the specific file(s) you wish to save by clicking on the circle beside the file name, or select all available items by clicking on the circle button beside the file icon at the top of the list.
- Right-click on the highlighted file(s) and select Download
- If prompted, navigate to a folder on your device where you would like to save the file(s). Otherwise, the file(s) will be saved to your Downloads folder
Additional Information or Notes
Note: files that are downloaded will be saved as a .ZIP and will need to be extracted prior to accessing any data.
