How to Log into Serv-U from a Browser

1. Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari).
2. Go to your Serv-U site (e.g., https://Sft-your department.jmu.edu).
3. On the login window, read the instructions before you begin.
4. Have your Okta authentication device (mobile device, Yubikey, etc.) in-hand to begin.
5. In the Login ID box, enter your JMU eID.
6. In the Password box, enter your eID password.
7. Click Login.
8. Authenticate with Okta. 
   1. If you have the Okta app installed on your mobile device, you will need to quickly click the Approve button.
   2. If you are unable to click the Approve button, you will receive an error and will need to perform the steps again.

Note: If you do not have the Okta app installed on your mobile device or do not have an internet connection for the app:

1. Enter your JMU eID in the Login ID box.
2. Enter your  eID password,Okta passcode in the Password box.
   1. The password is formatted as so: youreIDpassword,123456 (must have the comma and no spaces between your eID password and the Okta passcode).

You can obtain the Okta passcode by opening the Okta Verify app on your mobile device. It will display a 6 digit code, and will automatically refresh every 30 seconds, as notated by the moving line near the top of the app.
