Overview
This article is for users having issues enrolling Multifactor Authentication (MFA) using Okta Verify on an iPhone device, even after resetting MFA and users getting the E0000001 error on an iPhone device.
Environment
Okta Verify, iOS
Troubleshooting/Resolution
Rarely, iPhone users will receive the following error when activating Okta Verify:
Couldn't verify your identity Operation Failed - E0000001
This is caused by the iPhone caching network settings that do not clear out successfully when setting up a new Okta Verify account.
The solution is relatively simple:
- Navigate to your iPhone's Settings app
- Tap on General > Transfer or Reset iPhone.
- Tap on Reset.
- Note: You are not resetting the phone completely, the specific things that need a reset are just within this category
- Reset Location & Privacy > Enter lock screen passcode.
- Return to Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings > Enter lock screen passcode.
- The phone will reboot once confirmed.
- Once the phone is rebooted fully, retry the steps to setup Okta Verify.
