Overview
This article provides the steps for adding a printer based on the IP Address.
Environment
Windows, MacOS
Troubleshooting/Resolution
Windows:
- Open Control Panel
- Change "View by" to Large Icons
- Right click Devices and Printers and select Open in New Window
- Click add a printer > the printer I want isn't listed
- Select Add a printer using an IP address or hostname > next
- Enter the IP address > next
- Printer should be successfully added
MacOS:
- Click the apple icon in the top left corner
- In the drop down menu, open System Settings
- Select Printers & Scanners
- Click Add a Printer, Scanner, or Fax...
- In the new window, select IP
- In the Address box, enter the IP address
- Once done loading, select add
- Printer should be successfully added
